STILLWATER, Oklahoma – The Oklahoma State women’s basketball team recovered from a blowout loss with an equally dominant 77-48 win Wednesday over in-state foe Oral Roberts.

Coming off a 73-45 loss in their last game against Duke, the Cowgirls (9-1) were slow out of the gate. Oral Roberts (5-7) held the lead halfway through the first half, but OSU turned it on after that.

Oral Roberts went without a basket for more than eight minutes, allowing the Cowgirls to go on a 24-0 run to suddenly blow the game open. OSU led 38-19 going into halftime and coasted from there.

Toni Young led all scorers with 25 points on 12-of-19 shooting. She also added 10 rebounds, five steals and two blocked shots. Tiffany Bias added 12 points and was the only other Cowgirl to score in double figures.

ORU shot just 30 percent from the field and attempted a whopping 39 shots from beyond the 3-point line. Jaci Bigham hit four 3-pointers, but those were her only baskets. She led the Golden Eagles with 12 points.

Both teams will have time off for Christmas. OSU will have its next game at 7 p.m. Dec. 27 against Arkansas-Pine Bluff in Stillwater, and ORU will start a three-game home stand at 7 p.m. Dec. 29 against IPFW.
