OSU Whips Vermont in Final Non-Conference Matchup

STILLWATER, Oklahoma—The Oklahoma State Cowgirls closed out the non-conference schedule with a 79-33 dismantling of the Vermont Catamounts.
Vermont (0-14) struggled from the start with their first points in the game coming at 11:53 left in the first half, and by then OSU was already up 14-2.
At the break, Oklahoma State led 39-18 and were led by Toni Young who went 6-of-8 from the field for 13 points and six boards.
The Cowgirls started the second half on a 13-2 run, and never looked back.
Young built on her first half performance to finish with a double-double for the evening with 21 points and 11 rebounds on 10-of-13 shooting.
Tuesday, OSU head coach Kurt Budke and the Cowgirls broke into the latest ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll at No. 25.
The Cowgirls move to 12-1 on the season and 10-1 on the home floor inside Gallagher-Iba Arena.
Vicky McIntyre added 16 points and also accounted for four of the teams five blocks on the night.
As a team, Oklahoma State shot 47.1 percent from the floor but only managed 3-of-20 from behind the arc.
Oklahoma State will open up conference play Sunday on the road against Kansas State at 2:30 p.m. on Fox Sports Network.
