TULSA, Okla. – Departing Tulsa head coach Todd Graham said Tuesday that he is taking three TU assistant coaches with him to Pittsburgh.

Graham will be joined at Pitt by Mike Norvell, Paul Randolph and Keith Patterson, three integral members of the Golden Hurricane’s staff. Randolph and Patterson were co-defensive coordinators at TU, while Norvell was passing game coordinator and director of recruiting.

This announcement comes one day after both Graham and offensive coordinator Chad Morris announced they also are leaving the program. After Graham’s announcement, Norvell became a common name mentioned as a possible replacement.

On the staff at Pitt, Patterson will serve as defensive coordinator, Randolph as defensive line coach and Norvell as co-offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach.

Graham also will bring Calvin Magee and Tony Gibson with him, both of whom were former assistants at Michigan. Magee will act as the other co-offensive coordinator, and Magee will coach defensive backs and will be in charge of recruiting.

Tulsa now has lost a total of five coaches in the span of two, effectively gutting the coaching staff. The Hurricane now only has five coaches left on staff, and all of them are simply position coaches. The leader among them is running backs coach Bill Blankenship, who reports have said he is the leading candidate to be promoted to the offensive coordinator position.
