TULSA, Okla. – UMKC put together one of its best shooting games of the season, but even that wasn’t enough to stop the red hot Golden Eagles from winning their sixth-straight game in a 90-79 victory Saturday in Tulsa.

The visiting Kangaroos drained nearly everything they tossed up from 3-point range, connecting on 6-of-9 in the first half and 11-of-19 (58 percent) in the game.

ORU came out firing in the first half as well, putting up 21 3-pointers and making eight before the break. The Golden Eagles led by five at the half.

Oral Roberts finally managed a double digit lead coming out of the break as a layup from Savanna Buck put her team up 56-45.

Over the next 10 minutes, the Golden Eagles built a solid lead, going up by as many as 26 with five minutes left.

But the Kangaroos didn’t go down without a fight as they held ORU without a field goal for the final 4:23 of the game on a 14-0 run.

The Golden Eagles’ cushion from earlier in the half was too much, however, for they still finished with the 11-point victory to earn their sixth straight win.

It was a sloppy, high scoring affair as UMKC committed 30 turnovers and Oral Roberts wasn’t far behind with 27.

Five Golden Eagles scored in double digits in the game, led by Georgia Jones with 20 points. Guard Kevi Luper fell short of her normal production but still put up 17 points in the victory.

ORU will host Southern Utah at 7:05 p.m. on Monday.
