STILLWATER, Oklahoma -- The atmosphere in Stillwater Wednesday night will no doubt be hyped up, as the Oklahoma State Cowboys host to the Texas Longhorns, but this game will also be full of emotion off the court.

The game is just one day prior to the 10th anniversary of the deadly plane crash that claimed the lives of 10 of the Cowboys’ basketball family.

Upon arriving in Stillwater, Texas’ head coach Rick Barnes and the Texas coaching staff paid respect to those lives lost on Jan. 27, 2001, leaving 10 bouquets of flowers in remembrance. It was a kind gesture by the competition, emphasizing the truth that despite what happens on the court, a tragedy like the one OSU suffered 10 years ago is felt and respected throughout the sports world.
