NORMAN, Okla. – The No. 13 Oklahoma women squandered a 14-point halftime lead, but fought back to beat No. 22 Iowa State 65-62 Saturday.

The Sooners (17-5, 7-2) did not trail for the entire first half and carried a 38-24 lead into halftime. Iowa State (16-6, 4-4) slowly chipped into that lead until taking its first lead of the game 57-56 with four minutes remaining.

The lead changed hands four times in the last four minutes, thanks to clutch free-throw shooting by the Sooners. OU’s last nine points all came from the charity stripe, and Danielle Robinson hit two with 27 seconds left in the game to give the Sooners the lead for the final time.

The Cyclones missed a 3-pointer that would have given them the lead, and Jasmine Hartman pulled down the rebound. Iowa State immediately fouled her, and Hartman converted both free throws to stretch OU’s lead to three.

Iowa State called a timeout to try to set up a game-tying 3-pointer, but never managed to get a shot off. Robinson tipped away a pass and the clock ran out, sealing the Sooners’ victory.

Robinson led the Sooners with 20 points and was a perfect 6-for-6 from the free-throw line. OU as a team went 14-of-16 from the line. Aaryn Ellenberg scored 15, and Whitney Hand added 10.

Kelsey Bolte led all scorers with 23 points for Iowa State, and Hallie Christofferson scored 14.

The Sooners are now 9-1 at Lloyd Noble Center and recovered from their worst loss of the season in their last game against No. 1 Baylor. Their next game will come at 7 p.m. Wednesday on the road against Texas A&M.
