BIRMINGHAM, Alabama -- The Tulsa Golden Hurricane dropped its seventh consecutive game Thursday with a 59-36 loss at the hands of the University of Alabama-Birmingham Blazers.

Tulsa played close for the first half, trailing 23-21 at the end for the game’s first 20 minutes, but the offense dried up in the second half.

The Golden Hurricane seemed unable to even buy a bucket to close the game, going 4-of-22, an abysmal 18.2 percent, in the second half. The inability to score led to being outscored 36-15 in the second half of the contest.

Karisma Chapman of UAB led all scorers with 20 points and four blocks in her 29 minutes of action off of the bench. LaShaunda Pratt added 13 points, with Amber Jones contributing 11 points.

Tulsa went without a player reaching double-digits, Virginia DeWare and Taleya Mayberry only managed seven points while the other three starters managed six each.

The Golden Hurricane will try to end the streak at 2 p.m. Sunday in Dallas, Texas against the Southern Methodist Mustangs.
