STILLWATER, Okla. – The Oklahoma State women overcame a slow start and dominated the second half in an 80-57 rout of Nebraska Saturday.

The Cowgirls (15-8, 3-7) stumbled out of the gate, going 1-of-11 to start the game and allowing Nebraska (12-12, 2-8) to go on a 10-2 run. OSU finally made its second field goal more than six minutes into the game, which sparked a 10-0 run to take the lead. OSU never trailed again.

The Cowgirls led 27-20 at halftime and took over after that. They slowly built their lead throughout the second half before closing the game on a 22-12 run to turn things into a blowout.

OSU finished the game shooting 52 percent from the field to just 32 percent for Nebraska, and the Cowgirls turned 19 Cornhusker turnovers into 22 points.

A total of 11 OSU players saw the court, and all of them scored. Toni Young led the way with 20 points and 11 rebounds, and Kendra Suttles added 12 points off the bench.

Kaitlyn Burke led Nebraska with 12 points and Lindsey Moore scored 11, but they combined to shoot just 8-of-26 from the floor.

The Cowgirls’ 23-point margin of victory is by far their biggest in Big 12 play and also provided their first back-to-back conference wins of the year. They will try to continue that success when they hit the road to face Missouri at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
