LINCOLN, Neb. – Even after a week’s rest, OSU couldn’t seem to get the lid off of its basket on Saturday at Nebraska.

The Cowboys couldn’t buy a bucket for most of the game, putting up one of their lowest point totals of the season in a 65-54 loss to the Cornhuskers.

Oklahoma State shot just 36 percent in the contest and only two OSU players (Marshall Moses and Ray Penn) were able to shoot better than 50 percent individually.

OSU’s starters outside of Moses combined to shoot 9-of-32 (28 percent) keeping the Cowboys winless on the road in conference play.

The Cowboys (16-8, 4-6) led for much of the first half, not allowing Nebraska to get its first lead until a jumper from Lance Jeter put the Huskers up 21-19 about 12 minutes in.

The bucket was part of a 10-2 run from Nebraska to gain the momentum heading into the half, where it led 31-25.

As OSU’s shots still failed to find the bottom of the net in the second half, Drake Beranek scored seven straight for the Huskers to give them a 12-point lead with 11:23 to go.

The Huskers (16-8, 4-6) led by as many as 15 before cruising to an 11-point margin of victory.

Moses led the Cowboys in scoring with 18 and Keiton Page was the only other OSU player in double figures with 14, though he needed 13 attempts to get it.

Jeter led the Huskers with 16.

Oklahoma State was playing its first game without suspended forward Darrell Williams, who was charged with four felony counts in Stillwater five days prior to Saturday’s game.

Center Jarred Shaw saw a little bit more action in Williams’ absence, but his only stats on the board were two missed free throws and two turnovers in 10 minutes of play.

Unfortunately for the Cowboys, they have to stay on the road for now and that road doesn’t get any easier.

OSU will play at No. 3 Texas on Wednesday with a tipoff time of 8 p.m.
