LAWRENCE, Kan. – Oklahoma State has had some recent success against Kansas.

Just not as recent as Monday night.

The Jayhawks jumped up on the Cowboys early and never trailed in a 92-65 blowout at the Phog Allen Fieldhouse.

Though OSU had been struggling, it stood a chance against No. 2 Kansas if history had anything to say about it.

Last year in Stillwater, the Cowboys knocked off the top-ranked Jayhawks, and two years before that, they beat Kansas when it was ranked No. 5 nationally.

But from the opening tip on Monday, Kansas was going to have nothing of the sort, especially in its own arena.

Oklahoma State kept up only briefly, trailing 21-17 after a jumper from Roger Franklin seven minutes in.

But the Jayhawks went on a 20-4 run and things started getting ugly quickly for OSU.

Kansas held a commanding 52-28 lead at halftime.

The Jayhawks led by as many as 35 in the second half before finishing it out with a 27-point margin of victory.

The Cowboy big men saw some foul trouble early, with Matt Pilgrim scoring just four points while fouling out. Marshall Moses finished with four fouls but still managed to lead OSU in scoring with 27 points.

Guard Reger Dowell was the only other Cowboy in double figures with 10.

Kansas seemingly couldn’t miss for much of the game, shooting 54 percent from the field and 44 percent from 3-point line.

The Jayhawks also outrebounded Oklahoma State 37-24 on the night.

OSU has lost four straight and has three remaining regular season games, starting with Texas Tech on Saturday. Tip is set for 12:30 p.m. at Gallagher-Iba Arena.
