INDIANAPOLIS – The 2011 NFL Scouting Combine officially began Thursday, and 10 players from Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Tulsa will be in attendance.

The Combine marks the final chance for college players to showcase their talents to NFL coaches and general managers before the draft in April. The event consists of tests, interviews and various workouts.

Players arrive at the Combine in waves, starting with special teams players, offensive linemen and tight ends on Thursday. Offensive skill players will arrive Friday, defensive linemen and linebackers on Saturday and defensive backs on Sunday.

Upon their arrival, players will first be officially measured for their height and weight. They then will spend the rest of the day being interviewed by NFL teams, meeting the media and taking the highly-publicized Wonderlic Test.

The Wonderlic is a 50-question standardized test which players have 12 minutes to complete. It is designed to test how quickly players are able to process information, and the final score is equal to the number of questions answered correctly in the time limit.

Wonderlic results tend to only have an effect on a player’s draft stock if they are incredibly good or horrendously bad. Harvard graduate Pat McInally is the only player to have been recorded with a perfect score of 50, while former Texas quarterback Vince Young famously scored a 6 on his first attempt.

In their second day at the Combine, players will have their first meetings with the NFL Players Association, will undergo psychological testing and take part in more team interviews. They will then spend their third and final day doing workouts, some general and others specific to their position.

The workout days will run from Saturday through Tuesday, with Sunday generally being the most intriguing. Sunday is the workout day for quarterbacks and running backs, and all of the top quarterback prospects in this year’s class – namely Cam Newton, Blaine Gabbert and Ryan Mallett – have already said they will throw that day.

The full list of the players from Oklahoma schools who are attending the Combine is included below, and this list will be updated with each player’s performance in their respective drills.
