OKLAHOMA CITY -- The Oklahoma City Thunder will be raising funds Sunday for Chad Peery, the Oklahoma City Police Officer critically injured after being severely beaten outside a metro pub when he tried to break up a scuffle.

Fans attending the Thunder’s game against the Lakers will have an opportunity to purchase raffle tickets and auction on signed memorabilia to raise funds to Peery, who attempted to keep civilians safe, despite being off-duty at the time of the attack.

"This is yet another opportunity for the Thunder and our fans to show how much we care about our community and an appropriate way to assist Officer Peery and his family. He showed great courage in what he did, sacrificing his own safety to protect the public. We want to do whatever we can do to help," said Dan Mahoney, Vice President of Corporate Communications and Community Relations.

Since the Feb. 15 beating, Perry has been recovering from a broken neck and remains paralyzed. The father of four faces physical, emotional and financial challenges.

Not only will all proceeds go directly to the Chad Peery Benefit Fund, fans will also have an opportunity to sign an extra large get-well card for the officer.
