STILLWATER, Okla.—The Oklahoma State Cowgirl basketball team will compete in post season play for the fifth-straight postseason as they received a bid to the Women’s Invitation Tournament Monday evening.

The ORU Golden Eagles are also a part of the WNIT, taking on the TCU Horned Frogs at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.

The Cowgirls will host Pepperdine on Wednesday at 7 p.m. inside Gallagher-Iba Arena.

The Oklahoma State Cowgirls and head coach Kurt Budke enter the post season with a 16-14 overall record as they get set to host the Western Coast Conference’s Pepperdine Waves who are 18-11 overall, and 9-5 in conference play.

Wednesday’s game will be the second meeting between the two teams after they first met in 1987 in Malibu, Calif. when OSU came out victorious while Pepperdine won the most recent meeting in Stillwater in 2002.

The Cowgirls are 4-3 all time in the WNIT action after posting a 1-1 mark two years ago. OSU’s last appearance saw the Cowgirls win their opening-round game against UT Arlington before falling in overtime at Arkansas.

ORU earned a WNIT bid thanks in large part to a 16-2 conference record in Summit League play. ORU is 21-10 on the season and lost out in the Summit League tournament to Oakland in the conference semis.

Oral Roberts participated in the WNIT last season but lost out in the opening round to Missouri State.
