LARAMIE, Wyoming -- After losing leading scorer Toni Young earlier in the week to a broken arm, the Oklahoma State Cowgirls lost to Wyoming 75-71 in the second round of the Women’s NIT Monday.

OSU faced a big deficit early in the game, but clamped down defensively late in the first half and continued into the second half.

Trailing 34-19 with 3:06 left in the first half, Oklahoma State’s Lindsey Keller knocked down a three-pointer that ended a nearly five-minute scoreless drought. The three-pointer sparked a 17-1 run, giving the Cowgirls a 36-35 lead less than four minutes into the second half.

On Wyoming’s next possession, Chaundra Sewell hit a baseline jumper to retake the lead, starting a back-and-forth stretch that would last until the closing minutes of the game.

Tied 60-60 with 4:34 left to play, Wyoming snapped off nine unanswered points – four from Hillary Carlson – to seemingly put the game out of reach, but the Oklahoma State fired back.

Trailing by five with 38 seconds on the clock, OSU’s Tiffany Bias connected on a three-pointer to cut the deficit to 71-68. Wyoming converted on four free throws in the game’s closing seconds to end Oklahoma State’s season.

Wyoming’s Aubrey Vandiver led all scorers, recording a double-double with 27 points and 10 boards, playing all four minutes of the contest. Carlson added 19 points, five rebounds, four blocks and three assists.

Bias set the pace for Oklahoma State with 17 points, six assists and five rebounds. Vicky McIntyre added 16 points and five rebounds in 21 minutes, while Kendra Stuttles notching a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
