TULSA, Oklahoma – The scouting report for defending the Golden Hurricane offense has two names highlighted, circled and noted in bold. Quarterback G.J. Kinne and receiver Damaris Johnson are the show stoppers for Tulsa, and everyone in Conference USA knows it.

They may not know about Jordan James.

The sophomore receiver from Lafayette, La. has come on strong this spring. James scored on a 70-yard touchdown run in Tulsa’s second spring scrimmage and has impressed the offensive coaches with his ability to learn and adapt.

James didn’t crack the lineup as a freshman in 2010. The receiving corps was incredibly deep. Kinne threw touchdown passes to nine different players a year ago, but some of those targets are gone now. Charles Clayis headed off to the NFL. Trae Johnson graduated and Jameel Owenshas decided not to return to the team citing personal problems. Those three combined for half of the team’s scores.

That means the time is now for James.

Tulsa’s spring game is set for Friday, April 15th at 7 p.m. The game is free to the public and so is the Fan Fest that will be held one hour prior to kickoff.
