LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Oklahoma baseball team scored runs little by little Wednesday in a 7-3 victory over Arkansas-Little Rock.

The Sooners (32-13) did not score more than two runs in any inning, but got consistent production through the early innings. They scored the game’s first run in the second thanks to a wild pitch, and that started a string of four consecutive innings in which they scored.

After UALR (16-27) tied the game with a run in the bottom of the second, Chris Ellison quickly broke that tie with a leadoff home run in the third. Cameron Seitzer added an RBI single later in the inning for a 3-1 lead.

Ellison added another RBI in the fourth, this time on a bunt single, and Seitzer and Max White each added RBIs in the fifth to extend the advantage to 6-1.

The Trojans scattered hits throughout the rest of the game, but could never put enough together to mount a significant comeback. They scored one run in each of the fifth and eighth innings, but their best scoring opportunity came in the sixth.

Relief pitcher Tyler Seng came in to start the sixth, and immediately walked the first two batters he faced. OU then pulled Seng in favor of Kindle Ladd, who gave up a bunt single to his first batter to load the bases with nobody out.

But Seng responded with two straight strikeouts, the second of which came in a full count. He then induced a groundout to escape the threat without giving up any runs, and Little Rock never came close again.

Steven Bruce earned a win for OU after holding UALR to one run on five hits in five innings. Garret Graziano got through only 2.2 innings and gave up three runs on three hits and two walks. He finished with a loss.

The Sooners will return to Norman for seven consecutive home games, starting at 6:30 p.m. Friday against Kansas.
