STILLWATER, Oklahoma -- No. 8 TCU came out of the gate hot and gained a bit of revenge Saturday with a 10-3 win over the Oklahoma State Cowboys in the second game of a three-game series.

After leading off the game with back-to-back singles, Taylor Featherstone sent a triple to left center field to bring two home to start the scoring for the Horned Frogs (32-14). Jason Coats singled through the left side to bring Featherstone home and take a three-run advantage.

Oklahoma State (31-14) cut into the lead in the bottom of the second. With one out and runners on first and third, Zach Johnson grounded out a second base, allowing Devin Shines to score and cut the lead to 3-1.

However, TCU’s bats went to work again two innings later.

In the top of the fourth with a runner on first, Joe Weik homered to left field to extend the Horned Frogs’ advantage to 5-1.

Holding a 6-2 lead in the bottom of the ninth, the Horned Frogs put the game away. Weik lead off the inning with a single and two at-bats later, Aaron Schultz tripled to right center to take a five-run advantage. Brance Rivera followed with a double in the next at-bat, advancing to third on an error, allowing Schultz to score and take an 8-2 led.

Two at-bats later, Rivera scored on a failed pickoff attempt to take a seven-run lead and two at-bats later Coats singled to center to score Witte and take a 10-2 advantage.

The series will come to a close at 1 p.m. Saturday, deciding the top-20 series.
