STILLWATER, Oklahoma -- One big inning from the Bears’ offense and a great outing from starter Josh Turley lifted Baylor to an 8-1 win over Oklahoma State Saturday after losing in extras Friday

Turley (3-4) picked up the win for the Bears (28-23, 10-13), giving up seven hits and just one earned run in his 7.2 innings of service for Baylor. Brad Propst (33-17, 13-9) had a rare struggle for Oklahoma State (7-4), allowing six earned runs on eight hits in 5.2 innings pitched.

Despite the high score, Baylor managed to do most of its damage in one inning, scoring seven of its eight runs in the sixth frame.

After Max Muncy drew a leadoff walk, back-to-back singles drove him home to score the first run of the game and put runners on second and third. Logan Vick drew yet another walk to load the bases, and two at-bats later Steve DalPorto hit a sacrifice fly to right field to bring Dan Evatt home from third and take a 2-0 advantage.

But that’s when the hits really started to rain for the Bears.

Jake Miller followed with a two-run double to right center to score Vick and Josh Lundy and double the Baylor lead to four runs. Chris Slater hit a double down the left field line in the next at-bat to bring Miller home and make it 5-0 Baylor, and Brooks Pinckard added a two-run shot to make it a seven-run lead.

The three-game conference series will wrap up at 1 p.m. Sunday, closing the second-to-last weekend of the regular season.
