Did Presti Make a Mistake?

Did Sam Presti make his first big mistake, or did he get exactly what he needed?

The Thunders trade for Kansas big man Cole Aldrich has led to a debate. My opinion: Presti has yet to give me a reason to doubt him.

It wasnt sexy. In fact, it was the opposite of sexy. But Presti is hoping Aldrich is a bigger version of his hardworking fellow-Jayhawk, Nick Collison. A wide-body with long arms who can block shots, rebound and get physical in the post. At least thats the hope. Theres a chance hes instead a shorter version of Nenad Krstic without the jumper.

This much we know for sure. Aldrich is smart. And he has the best possible role model in Collison. If I were him, Id spend the next year learning everything I possibly could from my KU buddy. Id sit by him on the plane, in the film room, in the workout room.  Id sleep in his guest bedroom, take him to lunch and pepper him with questions about how to play the game.

Was Aldrich a good get? To be honest, I dont know. But Ill continue to take this stance until proven wrong...In Sam I Trust.
