TULSA, Oklahoma -- A driver received non-life threatening injuries in an overnight wreck that damaged a retaining wall and took out a gas meter Sunday morning. The accident took place at about 1:30 a.m. at the intersection of 71st and Memorial.

Tulsa Police Sergeant Terry Maurer said the driver of a GMC Denali SUV was going eastbound on 71st Street when he turned right on Memorial. He took the turn too fast and lost control of his vehicle. The Denali rolled across Memorial going into the Check N Go parking lot on the southeast corner of the intersection.

The vehicle landed on its wheels and continued back north across Memorial into the AT&T parking lot where it hit a retaining wall. The Denali then continued northwest across 71st Street, jumping the curb and hitting a gas meter before coming to rest in the Arby's parking lot.

The driver was the only occupant of the vehicle, and he was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Maurer said.

At the accident scene, Maurer said they did not know if alcohol was involved in the wreck.
