TULSA, Oklahoma -- Tulsa Police nab four juvenile burglary suspects after officers saw them leaving a home of an elderly woman in the 1500 block of East 54th Place North late Sunday night.

Police say they tried to take her prescription meds, $100 cash, her car and even a bottle of Doctor Pepper. But the 87-year-old grandmother wasn't having any of it.

Margie Dunlap,87, said she hid in her bedroom while police say 5 kids under the age of 16 rummaged through her home.

The boys lifted up her garage door then kicked in a door to get into the kitchen. That's when she spotted them.

"I was so dadgum scared. I wasn't about to count heads!" Margie said.

Instead, she took cover and called the police

"I was determined that I wasn't gonna be taken, and I was fighting with all my might," she said. "I was determined they wasn't gonna get me!"

Margie says what they did get were some medications off the counter, a Dr. Pepper out of the fridge, $100 and a spare car key out of her wallet.

Neighbors say the kids tried to escape in Mrs. Dunlap's car but they didn't get very far. Police officers were all over the area, so the kids jumped out of the moving vehicle it rolled in neutral into a ditch, not far from where they ditched their bikes.

"It's been a long time since we've had any trouble," said Trula Parkhill, Margie's daughter.

Margie's daughter Trula lives a few houses down the street. Neighbors say they saw the miniature burglars crawling under the garage door. They called the police then knocked on Trula's door to let her know what was going on.

"She's 87, but in good health so it was a good thing she didn't have a heart attack or stroke or anything like that," Parkhill said.

"I think she was more scared than I was. Because I later talked to her and she thought maybe someone had, I had, they might of killed me or something," Margie said.

Police say four of the five are under arrest and at the Tulsa County Juvenile Detention Center. One boy broke out a back window and made a run for it before the cops caught him.

Three were taken from the stolen escape car out front. There is one juvenile burglar on the loose, but Margie says she's not afraid.

"I pray that God will take it all away from me. you know, I don't wanna live in fear. That would be hell," she said.

This is the third time Margie's house has been broken into, but the first time she's been inside. She says her insurance company will be out Tuesday to add up the damage done to her house and car.
