TULSA, Oklahoma -- The heat can take a dangerous toll on people. Our temperatures are about ten degrees above normal right now.
We're all encouraged to avoid time outside, especially any strenuous activity during the hottest part of the day, which is between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Tulsa jogger Tim Goble said people should take precautions if they get outside.
"Get out before it gets too hot and drink a lot of water before you go out and after," Goble said.
If you do have to be outside, find a way to stay cool. You should wear lightweight, light-colored clothing and drink water regularly and often, even if you don't feel thirsty.
