TULSA, Oklahoma -- Two neighbors helped pull a woman from a burning home in south Tulsa Monday evening.

Firefighters were called to the home near 98th and Memorial about 7: 30 p.m.

Tim Smallwood, Public Information Officer with the Tulsa Fire Department, said firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke and flames shooting from the home.

Smallwood said a woman inside the home was able to make it out okay, thanks to the help of neighbors.

"There was two guys, one went in through the back door from what I'm understanding and one went in the front door and they actually helped the lady out of the house and got her pulled out of the house where she wouldn't have, maybe not have made it out," Tim Smallwood said.

The woman suffered smoke inhalation and checked out by EMSA, but was otherwise okay.  Her name and age have not been released.

"They could've maybe, possibly saved her life," Smallwood added.

Smallwood said the fire was contained to the kitchen and a hallway area.

Investigators will determine a cause, but Smallwood said it appeared the fire started in the kitchen.
