OKLAHOMA CITY -- The Federal Emergency Management Agency approved Tuesday Governor Mary Fallin's request for public assistance for 12 counties hit by tornadoes, severe storms, and flooding between May 22 and May 25.
The approved counties are Blaine, Caddo, Canadian, Delaware, Grady, Jefferson, Kingfisher, LeFlore, Logan, Major, McClain and Osage. The counties and municipalities are now eligible for federal funding to help with infrastructure repairs, debris removal and other costs associated with the storms.
The May storms caused an estimated $15 million in damage. Other counties may be added to the declaration if additional damage is identified.
