SPRINGFIELD, Missouri -- After giving up a five-run inning to fall behind three runs, the Tulsa Drillers retook the lead on a three-run home run in the top of the ninth to knock off the Springfield Cardinals 6-5.

Trailing 5-3 in the top of ninth, a hit by pitch and a walk put two runners on base and brought Tim Wheeler to the plate with two outs on the board. The leadoff hitter went yard over the left field wall, his 19 home run on the year, to give the Drillers (37-39) a 6-5 lead.

Tulsa put in closer Keith Weiser to finish out the game, who retired three of the next four batters to end the game and secure the Drillers' second consecutive win.

Joey Williamson (1-2) received his first win of the season, allowing just one hit in his two innings of service. Jorge Greenwood (1-3) gave one run, the three-run long ball, in his one inning of service for Springfield (33-43).

Now the Drillers will take two days off before resuming play at 7:05 p.m. Thursday against Corpus Christi, the first of a six-game home stand
