Poteau Teen Killed In Le Flore County Crash

LE FLORE COUNTY – A Poteau teen was killed in a three car crash in Le Flore county Wednesday.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said Kristen Lovell, 16, was driving west on State Highway 83 when she ran a stop sign and hit a Chevy pickup truck driving north on U.S. 59.

The impact pushed the truck into a third vehicle that was driving south on U.S. 59. The driver of the third vehicle, identified as Jeffery Bowen, 48, was trying to make a left turn onto State Highway 83, troopers said.

Bowen was not injured.

The driver of the truck, Brandon Morrison, 31, also was not injured.

According to the accident report, Lovell was not wearing a seatbelt.
