Heat Taking Toll On Green Country As 8 Are Treated For Weather Related Illness

It's dangerously hot outside and it's taking a toll on Oklahomans.

TULSA,Oklahoma -- It's dangerously hot outside and it's taking a toll on Oklahomans.

EMSA says it's responded to eight calls for heat-related illness Saturday. Three people had to go to the hospital and one of them in at least serious condition.

Two cooling stations are currently operational in Tulsa:

Tulsa County Social Services
2401 Charles Page Blvd, Tulsa, OK
Operational hours: 8:30 a.m. - 8:30 p.m. 7 days a week

Salvation Army Center of Hope
102 N. Denver Ave., Tulsa, OK
Operational hours: open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week

EMSA advises to stay out of the heat - stay indoors, if no air conditioning is available, visit a cooling station or public building such as libraries or malls. Drink plenty of non-alchoholic, non-caffeinated fluids, such as water or sports drinks.
