PEORIA, Illinois -- He was graduating high school just a year ago, but former Owasso High School star Austin Kirk wrote his name in Minor League Baseball history after pitching a complete-game no-hitter for the Peoria Chiefs Monday.
The right-handed pitcher gave up just two walks and struck out 10 batters in his performance, lifting the Chiefs to a 2-0 win in the opener of a six-game home stand.
The win lifted Kirk to 5-5 on the season, his first full season with the Cubs' A-League affiliate.
