BARTLESVILLE, Oklahoma -- A big milestone for the Washington County SPCA Thursday morning.
The chapter has now officially transferred 1,000 dogs to a similar facility in Colorado, where they usually all get adopted out in less than a week.
The Bartlesville chapter hit the 1,000 mark at 5:20 a.m. when 'Dora' boarded the van for her ride to Colorado.
The Washington County SPCA reached it in just two years, which is one year before any other shelter partner in the national program.
