TULSA, Oklahoma – The City of Tulsa's sales tax revenue for mid-May to mid-June is up nearly five percent compared to the same period last year, Mayor Dewey Bartlett said Friday.

Tulsa received $17,120,560, a 4.7 percent increase over the same time last year and three percent above budget estimates.

"This is a good start to the fiscal year. We continue to receive collections above budget estimates and are running the city more efficiently," Mayor Dewey Bartlett said.

Collections from July 2011 are still down $1.3 million, or 7.4 percent compared to July 2008.
