TULSA, Oklahoma – Investigators are trying to determine what started a fire at a North Tulsa home Monday morning.

Firefighters arrived to find flames coming out of the windows and back of the home at 2800 North Cincinnati.  A nearby truck was also on fire.

"We don't know if it was radiant heat from one of them that set the other one on fire or if it was two separate fires," District Chief Jim Long said. "Investigators are looking that over."

No one was home at the time of the fire.

Long said the extreme heat made the fire even more difficult to fight.

"When the temperatures get like they are, it takes a lot of effort on the part of the firefighters," he said. They really need to worry about staying hydrated and having enough people on scene to get the job done."

Long said sometimes extra fire crews will be brought in to help relieve crews on scene. He also said they give firefighters a chance to cool off, get some water, and take off their gear.
