Five Killed In Payne County Crash

Five people were killed in a head-on collision in rural Payne County Sunday afternoon.

STILLWATER, Oklahoma -- Five people were killed in a head-on collision in rural Payne County Sunday afternoon the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

Seventeen-year-old William Campbell, his mother, 37-year-old Marissa Campbell, and 16-year-old Shane B. Horn, all of Pawnee were identified by the OHP as having been killed.

The identities of two other deceased victims have not yet been released.

According to the OHP report, the car which William Campbell was driving westbound on SH 51 left the roadway to the right, overcorrected back onto the highway, crossed the centerline and struck a truck being driven in the opposite direction by 20-year-old Jesse J. Brown of Yale.

Brown's truck rolled one time, ejecting Brown.  He was treated and released and a passenger in his car, Cade A. Anderson, 14, also from Yale, was mediflighted to St. Francis Hospital in Tusla in stable condition.
