TULSA, Oklahoma -- Investigators have determined a fire at a vacant Tulsa home Tuesday evening was caused by an incendiary device.

Firefighters were called to the home near 1800 East Pine Street about 5:45 p.m.

They arrived to find the house fully involved.

Assistant Chief Steve Gage said the front porch of the home collapsed while firefighters were trying to extinguish the flames, but no firefighters were injured.

He also said crews were taking turns fighting the blaze to avoid heat exhaustion.

"We're really watching the heat for our firefighters to make sure they're not overcome by heat fighting this fire," Gage said.  "Our main goal is to keep our guys hydrated."

Gage said embers from the home also caused a nearby shed to catch fire.

The house fire at 1800 E Pine yesterday evening has been determined as incendiary.   We are not sure if it is connected to the previous incendiary fires in that area.

Tulsa firefighter Tim Smallwood says they are not sure if this fire is connected to other arson fires in this area of Tulsa.
