UNDATED -- Some Oklahomans took control over several provinces in Afghanistan. Authority over the region was transferred to the 45th Infantry Brigade Combat Team at a special ceremony.

Over the next several months, the 45th will perform missions throughout Afghanistan including Laghman and Panjshir provinces and the western districts of Nuristan Provinces.

They'll have their work cut out for them over the next several months, but they're ready.

The team spent months preparing for this mission, not only sharpening their skills at Camp Gruber here in Oklahoma, but also learning more about the culture in Afghanistan.
