TULSA, Oklahoma -- The new standard uniform for Tulsa Public School students will consist of white shirts and beige or khaki pants or skirts, according to a release from the school system.

The school board approved the new uniform policy Thursday evening for elementary, middle and junior high school students.

Although white and khaki are the basic requirements for uniforms, each school will have additional dress codes that include colors like navy blue and pastel pink.

Students are expected to show up for class on the first day of school wearing the new uniforms. High schools – with the exception of schools that already have uniform requirements in place – are exempt from the new policy.
