TULSA, Oklahoma -- If you were one of the lucky ones Sunday, you may have actually seen rain.

The News On 6 SkyCam captured the rare sight Sunday afternoon. The rain didn't last long, but we didn't get any reports of complaints.

News On 6 Meteorologist Dick Faurot says the system that produced the small downpour is moving very slowly.

"That means they will be capable of very localized, brief, and heavy downpours and the potential for damaging down burst winds," he said.

Despite the rain, northeast Oklahoma will continue to bake

The National Weather Service issued an excessive heat warning for 24 counties in eastern Oklahoma.

The extremely hot weather and high humidity is forecasted to stay with us for at least the next week, with afternoon heat indexes climbing into the 105-to-115-degree range each day.
