TULSA, Oklahoma -- An 18-year-old woman was shot in the face as she walked along a Tulsa street Thursday morning, according to Tulsa police.

The teen was walking down East 7th Street near Lewis when she was shot with a small caliber handgun just before 11 a.m. Tulsa police went door to door trying to get more information from neighbors in the area.

They have learned the victim was involved in an altercation a few days ago with another woman, but they have not learned the sex of the shooter.

"Right now, we have almost nothing to go on because we don't have a suspect description or a suspect vehicle description," said Tulsa Police Captain Steve Odom.

Police say the victim was not being very cooperative. She was shot in the cheek but was able to talk. She is expected to recover from her injuries.

EMSA transported the woman in serious condition to a local hospital.
