MAYSVILLE, Oklahoma – The Maysville Warriors rode a powerful offense to the second round of the playoffs last season before losing 49-24 to Christian Heritage. This year, with the perfect combination of talent and experience, the Warriors will be looking to make an even deeper playoff push.

Despite one shutout at the hands of district champion Ringling, Maysville averaged more than 34 points per game last year. The key to the offense this season will be its veteran offensive line, led by seniors Colton Jones, Dalton Hunter and Kevin Bender.

The line’s main job will be keeping pressure off senior quarterback Jim Bohnstedt, who is entering his third year as starter. Bohnstedt accounted for more than 2,300 all-purpose yards last season, and is a threat with his arm as well as his legs.

Bohnstedt will also help lead the defense in the secondary alongside senior Cody Prichard. The defensive line will have size to its advantage thanks to senior Matt Henson and junior Dalton McWhirter, both of whom are at least 6-foot-2 and 200 pounds.

Maysville’s season begins Sept. 4 on the road against Meeker, which the Warriors squeaked by 17-14 in last year’s opener.
