The senior boys of 2011 at Yukon High School have taken their pep to a whole new level. The members of “Miller Militia”, Tylar Fults, Cisco Factor, Austin Brockman, Travis Wylie, Matt Rundle, Zack Sorrels, Grant Collins, Dillon Laden and Tevin Blossom, all attend Yukon sporting events on a regular basis, ranging from football to basketball games.

The Miller Militia is a group of best friends that call each other brothers. These brothers are looking to stand out and make an example for their school and community to show they care for our sports and athletes, and most of all pep up our crowd to a whole new level.

“We were just sitting around and the idea came about to form a group for senior year that travels to all the games and to make memories that could be handed down from class to class,” says senior Tylar Fults.

It’s something new that hasn’t been done before at Yukon. The Militia is looking to expand their group to any dedicated Miller fan that is willing to attend as many games as possible and pep up the crowd with all their heart.
“When the idea first came up it was a joke, but, as things went on more ideas sparked then it became serious,”says Fults.

With the football season wrapping up, the Militia is looking to expand the group to other sporting events, the Militia states: “We would like our group to become bigger than it is now, and to grow with the years to come.”

Students at Yukon know about the Miller Militia because of their uniforms they wear with pride every day there is a sporting event. Leaders of the group Tylar Fults and Cisco Factor are looking to set an example not only for the senior class, but for the under classmen to help show support for the athletic teams and also to show the athletes and coaches that they support them every step of the way to a victorious season.

The Militia is a great role model for the student body. It does a variety of things at the different sports events ranging from starting chants to cheer on the team to running back and forth across the field with their giant Yukon Miller flags.

“When we actually decided to make this group we we’re a little nervous because we thought we would have to get permission from our principal, but in the end Mr. Melton was all for it as long as it was school appropriate and we promised to cheer our team to victory every game,” says Fults.
