OKLAHOMA CITY -- The Wright City Lumberjax may be young, but they’re not inexperienced.

Wright City has six underclassmen on the squad, but due to injuries a season ago, several of their younger players were called upon and gained valuable experience for this season.

“Two sophomores that were freshmen last year did step up and play,” head coach Joel Dickers said. It definitely shows this season.”

In addition to young players filling in, players are willing to fill in wherever they’re called upon to play.

“I’ll take [any role]. Whatever coach wants and just try to be there for the team, wherever they need me to be,” senior Bransen Shelton. “I’ll be a point guard if you need me to be, post player, I’ll fill any gap out there to get a win.”

Playing any spot on the floor is one thing, but being skilled enough to play anywhere from one to five is quite another matter.

“Basically everyone on the team, from the first five to everyone on the bench, can cover every spot on the floor,” said junior Barry Williams.
