TULSA, Oklahoma – With all the changes in the University of Tulsa football program has undergone in the last 2 weeks, it’s raised a lot of questions about their 2011 recruiting class.

Oklahoma Sports has been contacting players who had committed to Tulsa to see if any of those players had changed their mind.

One of those players who had committed to TU is West Mesquite (TX) wide receiver Gary Owens. Owens committed to the Golden Hurricane in July, and he made his official visit to campus this weekend.

On Tuesday, we received an email from his high school coach saying, “He is going to Tulsa”.

Owens had an outstanding career at West Mesquite. As a junior, he caught 47 passes for 726 yards and 4 touchdowns. Then this past year, he did even better, catching 60 passes for 763 yards and 8 touchdowns.
