TULSA, Okahoma – Amid the whirlwind of coaching changes in recent weeks, at least one Oklahoma State commit is standing his ground. Glenpool RB/DB Isaac Maselera still wants to be a Cowboy.

“Yeah, I’m still 100 percent on the Cowboys”, Maselera said on Thursday. “I just had my visit there and it went well, so I’m ready to get up there in June.”

When asked about the recent move of former OSU Offensive Coordinator Dana Holgorsen to West Virginia, that didn’t seem to faze him.

“It really didn’t have too much of an effect on me”, Maselera pointed out. “I know Mike Gundy has a good staff there, so I know they’ll get things turned around on the offensive side. They’ve had the best offense in the Big 12 for a couple years now, so I don’t think that’ll change.”

Maselera also told us that he watched the entire Alamo Bowl this year, a 36-10 rout of Arizona by the Pokes. Interestingly, he added that Arizona was one of the schools that had been recruiting him, along with Stanford, Tulsa and “a couple other schools”.

“They put it on Arizona pretty good”, Maselera smiled as he spoke. “The defense looked pretty good, so I hope I can get out there next year and [go] to a bowl game.”

The Glenpool recruit finished up by telling Oklahoma Sports that the coaches had discussed with him what positions he may play next season.

“They think they might get me out there and run back some kicks or something”, Maselera said. “[I might] get out there on special teams and rotate . . . that’s what I’m hoping.”
