Oklahoma State Commit David Glidden Chats with Oklahoma Sports

MUSTANG, Oklahoma – While weather postponed several National Signing Day ceremonies around Oklahoma, the recruiting process still came to an end on Wednesday for Mustang wide receiver David Glidden.

The 5-foot-9, 160-pound wide receiver sent his National Letter of Intent to Oklahoma State to officially make him a Cowboy.

While OSU has yet to name a new offensive coordinator, Glidden is still excited to be a part of the Cowboys’ high-scoring offense.

“Yes, I’m pumped! I’m not sure who the OC will be yet. I know just about as much as everyone else knows,” Glidden said in Wednesday’s Oklahoma Sports chat.

Glidden went on to say that while he is disappointed that Dana Holgorsen left for West Virginia, he has been assured by the OSU staff that the offense will not change very much.

“It’s sad to see (Holgorsen) go, but it's the business. I can't really be too mad at him though, because he's really the one who got me up there by bringing the Cowboys that system,” he said.

“No, (not having an offensive coordinator) doesn't concern me at all. Coach Gundy has assured us all that the system will stay the same no matter who comes in.”

In addition to the offense, Glidden said the Oklahoma State facilities played a role in his college choice.

“Yes, all that is amazing! You can't go wrong with OSU just because of the facilities! That is just one of many reasons (I chose OSU),” he said.

Glidden, despite his small stature, built a reputation as a playmaker at Mustang. He is a Parade All-America selection and will be a welcome addition to OSU.

As a senior, he won the Oklahoma Gatorade Player of the Year Award after catching 65 passes for 1,244 yards and 17 touchdowns. He also made an impact on special teams, where he averaged 35.3 yards on punt returns and ran back four kickoffs for touchdowns. He says he would welcome the opportunity to run back kicks for the Cowboys.

“I hope so,” Glidden responded when asked if he’ll be on special teams. “Returning kicks is my favorite part of the game.”
