BETHANY, Oklahoma – The first quarter couldn’t have been much worse for the Bethany Lady Bronchos against Little Axe Friday. The Lady Indians led 6-4 after the opening eight minutes, then Bethany bounced back to beat Little Axe 47-36 Friday in Class 4A district play.


Senior Callee Cox was a big part of Bethany’s resurgence in the first half. Cox’s layup with 3:04 left in the first half gave Bethany the lead for good at 10-9. She scored nine points in the second quarter which included a 10-foot jumper before the halftime buzzer.


Cox also connected on a three pointer, with time winding down in the third quarter. Cox led all scorers with 27 points.
