TULSA, Oklahoma - Top-ranked Booker T. Washington has been the favorite to win the 5A state title all year. El Reno has been the underdog all season. But thanks to a great run, the Indians met the Hornets in Saturday's championship game.

The Indians embraced that underdog role. But that wasn't nearly enough to get them past the high-powered Booker T. Washington offense.

The Hornets dominated the game from the start. They opened the game on a 10-3 run, and despite a half court shot from Blaine Owens at the end of the first quarter, Booker T. Washington still led 20-11.

The Hornets struck early in the second as well. They opened that quarter on an 8-0 run and at the half Booker T. Washington was up 36-19.

The third quarter followed the same script and the Booker T. lead grew to 22 points heading into the final frame.

El Reno did start the fourth quarter with a nice run. But it was just too little, too late. And when the final horn sounded, Booker T. Washington had won their second straight state title, beating El Reno 72-59.

Korey Billbury led the Hornets with 20 points and Juwan Parker chipped in 18 points. El Reno's leading scorer was Devante Moore who scored a game-high 23 points.

El Reno ends their season with a record of 20-10. Booker T. Washington finishes the year with a perfect record of 22-0. This was also their 15th state title in school history, which sets a new Oklahoma state record.
