OWASSO, Oklahoma – When Broken Arrow visits Owasso on Friday night, it will be a battle of the titans.

The 6A No. 1 Tigers have won 16 in a row, while the No. 2 Rams are winners of 18 straight. The reason that most people will be there is the pitching matchup. Two of the top high school prospects in the country will the toe the rubber against each other. Broken Arrow’s Archie Bradley comes into Friday with a 7-0 record, a 0.16 ERA, 73 strikeouts and 8 walks. Owasso’s Dylan Bundy has the same record, a 0.40 ERA, 95 strikeouts and 3 walks. They each have a no-hitter to their credit this season.

But the pitching matchup isn’t the only reason to watch this game.

“[Both teams] are going to be nationally ranked,” Bradley said. In fact, in the most recent poll, Baseball America has Owasso fourth and Broken Arrow ranked fifth nationally. “Me and him have a chance to be drafted, along with some other kids. The field is just going to be full of [Division 1] players and it’s going to be an electric atmosphere.”

When asked to describe what he thinks the atmosphere will be Friday evening, Bundy agrees.

“Electric. I mean, it’s gonna be crazy,” said Bundy. “There’s gonna be 3,000 people here . . . I don’t know how many people they’re going to bring, but I know we’re going to have at least a thousand. We’ve got a bunch of students coming to support us, and a bunch of faculty members, so it should be fun.”

“I already have students talking [that] we’re gonna have a student section at a baseball game,” Bradley said. “[We’ll have] signs and airhorns and I’m sure they’re gonna be the same. And with the way Owasso is with their fans and they way our fans are – and the rivalry we’ve had the past couple years – it’s going to be ecstatic.”

So, between Bedlam at ONEOK, 66ers playoffs, and the TU spring game, you may want to swing by Owasso on Friday night. It just may be the best high school baseball you’ll see in a long time.
