SECAUCUS, N.J. – Oklahoma is certainly well-represented on the national baseball scene in this year’s draft.

Owasso pitcher Dylan Bundy went fourth overall in the 2011 MLB Draft on Monday night to the Baltimore Orioles.

"That's what I wanted," Bundy said. "My brother Bobby is pitching (Monday night), hopefully he got the news. I'm not an emotional person, but today is pretty exciting. Archie and I didn't know for sure where we would be picked, but it's great to have him by my side."

Broken Arrow pitcher Archie Bradley went shortly after, going seventh to the Arizona Diamondbacks.

"It was the longest five minutes of my life," Bradley said, alluding to the five-minute interval each team gets before making its selection. "I teared up. I always told myself I wouldn't cry in this situation, but when it becomes true, I couldn't help it. It's a dream come true. Words can't explain what I am feeling."

Bundy is a three-time Gatorade Oklahoma Baseball Player of the Year, and this year won the Gatorade National Baseball Player of the Year.

Bundy’s numbers were staggering this year for the Rams, finishing with a 0.2 ERA in the season and averaging more than two strikeouts per inning.

The 6-1, 200-pound right-hander was 11-0 in helping Owasso to a 37-2 record and state runner-up finish this season.

Bundy made huge waves during draft talk by getting his fastball over 100 mph with an average in the high 90’s.

Bradley signed with the University of Oklahoma to play football and baseball, but that status is up in the air at this point considering his high draft spot.

Standing 6-4, he achieved a 12-1 record this year with a 0.29 ERA. He also batted .395 and drove in 31 runs with nine homers.

Bradley has fastballs topping out in the high-90’s and was consistently ranked among the top 10 prospects in the draft by many publications.
