Shock Collapses In 4th Quarter And Falls To Chicago

Posted: Updated:

TULSA, Oklahoma -- The Tulsa Shock held a slim lead heading into the fourth quarter Thursday, but were unable to stop the offense of the Chicago Sky, falling 64-55 to drop their 11th consecutive game.

The Shock held Chicago's offense in check in the third quarter, stringing together an 11-0 run spanning nearly four minutes to take a 47-44 lead. Tulsa went into the fourth quarter holding a slim 48-46 lead.

But that's when the wheels fell off for the Shock.

Chicago started the final 10 minutes of the game on an 8-0 run to retake the lead 54-48 advantage with six minutes left to play. Tulsa pulled within six points, but the Sky closed the game on a 6-2 run, including four from Sylvia Fowles, to close the game.

Tulsa's Ivory Latta led all scorers with 20 points, the only Shock player to score in double-digits, but turned the ball over six times. Tiffany Jackson kept the boards clean with 15 rebounds, but managed just eight points.

Fowles set the pace for Chicago and turned in a double-double, scoring 14 points and grabbing 10 rebounds in the win. Courtney Vandersloot managed 12 points, five rebounds and four assists for the Sky.

The Shock will be back in action at 7 p.m. Saturday against the Seattle Storm.
