NORMAN, Oklahoma – As the Oklahoma Sooners report to campus Wednesday, their practice times for the rest of the week are being altered to combat the blistering heat that continues across the Sooner state.

Head coach Bob Stoops moved OU's first three practices from evening workouts to early morning practices from 6:45 a.m. to 9 a.m.

"I don't have a choice," said Stoops. "I either go real, real early or I go real, real late and it's still cooler real, real early than it is late."

Stoops also said it's the earliest he has ever held practice, but that he could not hold workouts at 8 or 9 a.m. because some players have summer classes during the day.

The Sooners will hold their annual Meet the Sooners Day Aug 6 at the practice fields near Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.
