Tulsa Driver Charged With Death Of His Passenger

TULSA, Oklahoma -- The driver of a car involved in a fatal crash early Sunday, July 31, 2011 on East 11th Street has been charged with first degree manslaughter.

The Tulsa County DA's Office filed the charge Tuesday against 20-year-old Rafael Vazquez over the death of a passenger that was killed in his car.

In addition, Vazquez was charged with DUI and Transporting An Open Container.

Tulsa Police say the crash happened on 11th Street just past Mingo at about 3:30 a.m.

Police say it appears the passenger was hanging out of the vehicle when his head struck a guardrail.  He was pronounced at the scene.
